Tags for Sarah T. (updated)

My friend, Sarah, commissioned me to make some gift tags for her sister's bachelorette party goodie bags. Here's what I've come up with so far...

She chose these tags. The finished set has purple string instead of cream ribbon (I used up all the cream ribbon on the scallop circle tags).

The final version of these tags has cream ribbon adhered between the dark purple layer and the cream layer, so they can be tied around bags or wine bottles...

The lavender card stock is textured, and for this rough draft I stamped on the textured side. I'll be sure to stamp on the smooth side for the real deal...

Packaged up and ready to be delivered...

Thanks, Sarah!

Eastern inspiration

My fellow crafting friend, Jen, gave me a new set of stamps (Stampin Up "Eastern Blooms") for my birthday last month, which inspired me to make a thank-you card for her and a couple to have on hand. She also gave me a couple of sheets of cherry-blossom paper that matched the stamp set's theme...

The clear, dimensional embellishments are made with Diamond Glaze, which my mom recently gave me.

Cards for JVL

My friend liked some of the cards I designed with guys in mind, and requested some custom cards as well... Here are the new ones I made for him.

The first cards I made are the ones on the left in the top photo, and I should mention that these are truly unique cards--I don't have any more of that paper or those decals (I do, however, have similar designs from the same tablet). I love the "gentleman" decal, and I'm glad these cards are going to a good home...

These two "happy birthday" cards match the "many greetings" set I had for sale on Etsy. The stamp set didn't come with a birthday stamp, so I improvised using a similar sized stamp combined with the images from the set...

I'm planning on delivering the package in person, so I got to use a gift bag and tissue paper -- I feel like I own a real store now!

Guy cards--always a challenge

A friend of mine today said he would like to buy some handmade birthday cards, one of which will be for his father's birthday. I told him that most of the cards I offer in my Etsy store will work for just about anybody for just about any occasion--but the wheels started turning in my head. I decided to rise to the challenge of making a few cards that would be appropriate for a guy to give to another guy. I'm not sure if I succeeded, but I had fun this afternoon... I'll give my friend first dibs, then I'll offer them on my store.

Baby gift set

I was recently given the opportunity to donate some items to a raffle for a conference for the California Alliance Concerned with School Aged Parents and Teen Pregnancy Prevention. My friend's mom is coordinating the raffle, which will feature gift baskets filled with handmade items for moms and babies. I was honored to be approached (thanks, Sue and Sarah!) and had a wonderful time making the boxed set of a photo book, four cards, and six gift tags.

I'm sorry the photos are a little washed out -- in my impulsiveness to photograph the cards while Natalie napped, I didn't wait for the best lighting in my dining room...

Gift packaging -- Stampin Up workshop

On Saturday, I attended a Stampin' Up! workshop hosted by my friend Sarah and led by demonstrator Karen Indendi. We created gift bags and a gift box, which gave us some lovely ideas for Christmas packaging (I've got Christmas on the brain!)...

It's beginning to look a little like Christmas

I've been itching to get started on Christmas cards, tags, and gifts. It seems that every other year I'm really on the ball, and this is an on year. We'll see how well I keep the momentum going...

Here are some of the first projects of the season. The tags were freebies that I threw in, as promised, with an Etsy order this month. The card is one that I whipped up while Natalie was happy playing in the craft room the other night.
